FISHING TRIPS

Fishing trips are conducted much as the bear hunting trips, from the 58-foot "The Bear Hunter" with it’s mobility and comfort. For stream fishing, we use the skiff.

The King salmon run is in May early June, with fishing done on the Old Harbor area. Halibut and bottom fishing are very good at this time. June and July is the time for Red salmon especially on Afognak and Malina bay, were we can access the fish as they go into the rivers and lakes to spawn. In the fall August and Sept. we target the silver salmon in just about the same places. The silvers are accessible in the ocean were we can troll for them. There are Halibut and bottom fish on all the fishing trips.

We provide all the bait and tackle but if you have a favorite rod bring it by all means and we’ll give it a workout. Bear in mind we’re fishing in both salt and fresh water. You’ll need a warm jacket, hat and gloves. Rubber boots/waders are necessary for stream fishing while soft boat shoes (no vibram soles) are indicated on the boat.

The cost to fly out to the boat is $300 to $400 for the trips to Afognak and $450 to $675 to Old Harbor area.
